Ariz began his professional journey rooted in core mechanical engineering and on-site execution, working across power plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities, and infrastructure projects in the Middle East. These early experiences instilled a deep respect for precision, safety, planning, and accountability, values that continue to define his leadership philosophy today.
Having worked on commissioning one of the UAE’s largest power plants, refinery pipeline networks, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and critical oil and gas equipment, Ariz gained firsthand exposure to how decisions made on paper translate into real-world impact. These formative years taught him that leadership cannot be abstract. It must be grounded in reality.
“Engineering teaches you humility,” he reflects. “When you stand on-site, you quickly learn that theory without execution means nothing.”
This foundation allowed him to develop a leadership style that balances ambition with discipline, and innovation with feasibility. It also laid the groundwork for his transition into enterprise systems, auditing, and ultimately executive decision-making.
Mastering Systems, Data, and Execution
As his career progressed, Ariz moved into roles that placed him at the heart of organizational systems and controls. His work leading SAP ERP implementations, particularly across SAP PS and PP modules for ECC and S/4 HANA environments, gave him a holistic view of how projects, cost structures, materials, and revenue are interconnected. By defining work breakdown structures, managing bill of materials, tracking planned versus actual costing, and generating executive-level reports, Ariz developed a data-driven mindset long before analytics became a leadership buzzword.
“Good leadership starts with visibility,” he explains. “When leaders see the truth in the data, better decisions follow.” Parallel to this, his experience as a QMS ISO 9001:2015 auditor sharpened his understanding of governance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Rather than viewing quality systems as bureaucratic obligations, Ariz saw them as strategic tools.
